![]() Honey Select 2 runs on the AI Shoujo engine. Considering past Illusion releases, the probability of you being able to use you HS1-made cards on HS2 is about 0%. Your characters will have to be completely remade. ![]() ![]() Since /h/ is a slow board, we can probably use this thread as a post-release discussion place as well. Not really, it's literally just HS with a slightly different body rig for actors and dithered transparency shaders, same exact deal down to recycling most of HS' animations library, the shaders are also really, really low effort, it's not better, it's just a new, different kind of bad you're not tired of because it tastes slightly different. >You cant seriously expect anything out of illusion. ![]() Yep, all of that could have been made for previous games too Well, turns out some guy modded that shit in Playhome ages ago Of course, the modder base autistically refusing to do anything of value outside of desperately trying to keep a dinosaur like HS alive instead of moving onto other games doesn't help.įor the records, you know all the cool shit like dynamic hair bones that Illusion finally bothered implementing in AI? You're right, which is why I'm not really in the (supposed) hype train for HS2, it's all the same shit and it makes me sad that VAM of all things is making a lot more progress than anything Illusion shat in 3 years. >They're reusing eveeything from HS/PH/AI I'm sure you don't need me to keep posting links, thing is both Illusion and the modding community for these games are a joke, this "modders will fix it" attitude is completely misplaced given how 99% of modders are asset flippers, and the reason why Illusion still gets away with delivering trash that keeps going backwards since years instead of progressing. Oh I wish they were, instead they're just recycling a couple of animations from HS and the studio. The game looks worse than PH and discarded all of the graphical and technical advancements they made with it (mainly because the staff behind PH left the company), what little good things they have in terms of studio are taken straight from KK instead with zero improvements, see the shitty colour filters they dare call lighting options. Thing is they're not even reusing things, they're straight up binning everything they achieve with each game to sell a completely different and equally bad game with new problems and less content, this isn't like VAM where they're continuosly building upon a single project, if I use VAM I can still use all of the assets, morphs, scenes and options I got nearly four years ago, if I use HS2 I'm limited to what Illusion decides to put into the game and how they want their game to look, if they actually did reuse everything they made since HS the games would be a lot fucking better than what they actually are.Īsk Joan, unless you pay him I don't see him doing it though. Granted, HS2 might move a lot of people by virtue of the name alone and get a meaty modding scene, but while this is highly possible there's still several issues with it that many people aren't happy about, not to mention the vast majority of people are too lazy to move from HS. STN has confirmed a Repack is already virtually on the way, but we'll have to wait a couple of months to see just how much the game will move in terms of modding, and Joan isn't the kind of guy who would exactly do his magic for free, understandbly. I've been telling people that PH was the better game since ages but nobody actually fucking bothers with it until it's too late.Įven now that it got BepinEx and several other mods people still make excuses to not support the modding scene, it could be a much better game than HS and HS2 if people actually bothered showing some interest so that Joan or Marco would be more enthusiastic to work on it, but its actual userbase is tiny and most modders can make lots of excuses to not bother with it and keep lobbying against it. ![]()
